Where Nostalgia Meets Artistry for you to discover your piece of history!
Nestled in the historic city of York, Phillumenart is not just a business; it's a passion project that started with bringing the vibrant spirit of 1950s-1960s Czechoslovakia to life through the charming medium of matchbox labels.
We continue to expand our little world of matchbox labels, regularly updating our shop with lively new prints. We are a small, independent team of enthusiasts dedicated to curating and transforming these nostalgic gems into stunning artistic prints that capture the essence of a bygone era.
Coined as Pocket Promotions within a world where marketing was, and still remains to be, pricey; companies used the essential staple of a match box to advertise products, services, sports and ideologies. The beauty of the art behind the prints acted as tool to express the information.
The message? Light is an essential. Art is a luxury.
Based in the heart of York, our quaint workshop studio is where the magic happens. Every print is meticulously crafted with love and attention to detail. From the selection of the original labels to the printing process, we ensure that each piece retains the charm and character of the era.
While we call York home, Phillumenart's reach extends globally, bringing the beauty of Czechoslovakia to art lovers around the world.
Whether you're a vintage enthusiast, an art connoisseur, or someone simply looking to add a touch of nostalgia to your space, Phillumenart invites you to explore our collection. Join us in celebrating the beauty of the past and the artistry that transcends time.
Thank you for being a part of our journey.
